Donald Trump: Is he really a cartoon?

With US presidential elections coming closer, the campaigns have become much larger and so have the sizes of supporters and opponents of different candidates. The most controversial character of these elections however, undeniably remains the republicans forerunner – Donald Trump!

The guy people were joking about yesterday, stands a chance today to win the US presidential elections! His supporters are staunch and share the common motto as his – Make America great again. To make a country great, a leader often needs to take steps that might seem dictatorial but are for an overall good, and this has been proven through history. Also proven is the fact that every time a leader has turned too dictatorial, it has led to his/her end.

Turning to Donald Trump, who is he? Donald Trump is a real estate developer and a television personality. Television personality because of his outspoken nature. He has a very shrewd mentality but that shrewdness leads to growth. One of his proposed policies is banning illegal immigrants enter the country, and this, for no reason, should be something to judge him against. His another more controversial policy is banning the entry of muslims in the country. Now that’s too much to ask for. Some of the brightest minds the world has seen are Muslims. From Salman Rushdie to Orhan Pamuk, we have been intrigued by some great Muslim authors. From Mohammad Abdus Salam to Aziz Sancar, we have seen some most intelligent muslim minds. From Yasser Arafat to Mohamed A. El-Erian, we have seen some great muslim men lead us. I have many muslim friends myself and all of them are super bright. It would be totally unjust on them to not be able to fulfil their dreams and ambitions and this would be a disaster.

Now going by the trends, let’s assume that Donald Trump wins the US presidential elections and is crowned the next president of the world super power. He, in no way, would compromise on the promises he has given to his voters. He’ll implement each of his policies being ridiculed at the moment. What’ll happen then? Will muslims not be allowed in the US? For some time yes, but if Trump has to go by his words – “Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life.”, this move should be temporary. During the mean time, many intellectual muslim minds will start opposing the states and gradually turn it to the communal fanatics. There will be an opposition from the inside which should break the very roots of ISIS and other leading terrorist organisations. I looked at the other proposed policies of Donald Trump and though all of them are extreme, all are pro-development steps.

I’m not sure how the US presidential elections are going to turn out but I hope whatever may be the result, development is not stopped.
